James Bruce

James is a fourth generation Auctioneer and Valuer and the great grandson of the founder of Theodore Bruce.  He began his career with Theodore Bruce in 1977 as a storeman, becoming Auction Manager in 1982.  After working in both the United States of America and Great Britain, James returned to Adelaide in 1987 and was appointed Managing Director of Theodore Bruce in 1995.  In 2014 he received a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the arts in South Australia and to the community as a supporter of youth and cultural associations.  James has served in roles at the Consulate of The United Kingdom in Adelaide and as a member of the Board of the State Library of South Australia.
