All buyers are required to register with Theodore Bruce to bid at any Theodore Bruce auction.  Theodore Bruce requires buyer credit card details at the time of registration.  For all online auctions, registration must occur online.  For all live auctions, buyers may register online, in person, or via telephone.

Online

Bidders can place bids online in real time during the conduct of an auction or may place a maximum Absentee Bid against a relevant lot.  Theodore Bruce will execute your Absentee Bid at the lowest bidding increment within your limit.  For all online only auctions, this method of bidding is the only available way to bid for an item and bidding on the first lot closes a minute after the listed auction time, with subsequent lots closing a minute apart.  For live auctions conducted in our rooms, you may bid online or via any of the following bidding methods.

Telephone

Telephone bidding is only available for live auctions.  Register for telephone bidding by completing and returning the Telephone Bidding Form or by completing the form online directly next to the relevant lot in the online catalogue.

Absentee

Leave a confidential Absentee Bid online directly against a relevant lot.  Theodore Bruce will execute your Absentee Bid at the lowest bidding increment within your limit.

Inperson

Attend a live auction and bid in person at our salerooms.

Invoices

Theodore Bruce sends all successful bidders a tax invoice shortly after the close of an auction.  This includes the hammer price of the relevant lot, buyer’s premium and GST.  If you do not receive your invoice, please call or email us with the auction details and lot number.  Please first check your spam or junk email folder and add Theodore Bruce to your address book.

Invoices can be settled in cash, via direct deposit and with all major credit cards subject to the following limits and applicable surcharges.  You can also pay online via our online Invoice Payment page.

Collection

Successful buyers may collect in person at our salesrooms during business hours.

Postage

For Australian based deliveries, Theodore Bruce offers a packing and postal service through Australia Post.  Please contact the Theodore Bruce dispatch department for a quotation.
